How often should I schedule a comprehensive eye exam?
It’s never too early to have your eyes examined by a professional. Children can have an eye exam as early as 6 months old and by the time they enter the 1st grade they should have eye exams at least every other year. As you age, the frequency should increase. For people over 60, we suggest annual eye exams.

Nearsightedness
Nearsightedness, also known as myopia, is a condition which makes it difficult to clearly see objects in the distance. A nearsighted person can clearly see objects close by such as when reading or using a computer, however they have trouble see items in the distance.
Farsightedness
Farsightedness, also known as hyperopia, is a condition which makes it difficult to clearly see objects which are close to you. A farsighted person can easily see items at a distance but struggles with close up items such as when reading, using a computer or writing.
Astigmatism
Astigmatism is a condition which is a lot more common than most people think. Astigmatism is a term which basically means that the shape of the eyeball is not perfectly round. Since the eyeball is not round, light that enters the eye can bend unevenly causing objects in the distance to appear slanted, wavy or out of focus.
Presbyopia
Presbyopia is a condition which makes it difficult to see items clearly when up close. This condition usually results with age and affects people shortly after the age of 40.
