Common Signs That You May Need Corrective Lenses

  • Frequent Headaches
  • Blurred Vision (Farsightedness)
  • Constantly Squinting
  • Poor Vision for Distance (Nearsightedness)
  • Poor vision when reading or using computer
  • Difficulty seeing at night
  • Seeing halos around lights
  • Experiencing Eye Strain
  • Experiencing Eye Fatigue
  • Trouble adjusting from light to dark areas

How often should I schedule a comprehensive eye exam?

At Ram Eye Care & Retina Center, we recommend regular eye exams based on individual factors like age, health status, and vision correction needs. For children, we advise the first eye exam at 6 months, another at 3 years, and before starting school. Subsequent exams every 1-2 years are suggested based on vision and eye health. Adults aged 18-60 should consider exams every 2 years unless they have specific risk factors or wear glasses or contacts. Those 61 and older are recommended yearly exams due to increased risks of age-related eye conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.

Common Eye Sight Issues

R

Nearsightedness

Nearsightedness, also known as myopia, is a condition which makes it difficult to clearly see objects in the distance.  A nearsighted person can clearly see objects close by such as when reading or using a computer, however they have trouble see items in the distance.

R

Farsightedness

Farsightedness, also known as  hyperopia, is a condition which makes it difficult to clearly see objects which are close to you.  A farsighted person can easily see items at a distance but struggles with close up items such as when reading, using a computer or writing.

R

Astigmatism

Astigmatism is a condition which is a lot more common than most people think.  Astigmatism is a term which basically means that the shape of the eyeball is not perfectly round.  Since the eyeball is not round, light that enters the eye can bend unevenly causing objects in the distance to appear slanted, wavy or out of focus.

R

Presbyopia

Presbyopia is a condition which makes it difficult to see items clearly when up close.  This condition usually results with age and affects people shortly after the age of 40.

A Few Words From Our Customers

First time at RAM will NOT be my last. I cannot say enough great things about RAM Eye Care from all staff to Dr. Ramchander who has such an expertise of the eyes but also exudes a nice personality and professionalism. He truly cares about you and the health of your eyes. Very thorough! A nice office atmosphere also helped with my anxiety. For a smaller office I was pleasantly surprised at the nice selection of eyeglass frames at very reasonable prices compared to other eyeglass places I have been at. I am on a fixed income so this was important to me as I have no eyecare insurance like VSP. I am sorry cannot recall her name helped fit me with a great pair of frames for my new script and I am a hard person to fit for frames. She did not rush me and was very knowledgeable with a long education and history of fitting folks with eyeglasses with a warm and welcoming personality. Top notch all the way!!
